Rosemary Garlic Bread (Soft & Golden)

🧾 Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (not hot)
  • ¼ cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary (or 1 tsp dried)
  • Optional: pinch of flaky salt for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast
    Mix warm water, milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the dough
    Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. First rise
    Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the garlic rosemary butter
    Mix melted butter with garlic and rosemary.
  5. Shape the bread
    Punch down the dough, shape into a loaf or rolls, and place on a baking tray. Brush generously with the garlic rosemary butter.
  6. Second rise
    Let it rest for 20–30 minutes.
  7. Bake
    Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Finish
    Brush again with remaining butter and sprinkle with flaky salt if you like.
